23rd May

Today is the final day I can get everything done and thankfully i believe i have fully finished everything from all 7 units to all of the requirements for my FMP. I double checked everything to make sure it's all there and it is. I have also double checked to make sure I have submitted my FMP which I have. For now I am done. I will be continuing to develop my short film in my own time adding more scenes and maybe rebooting a scene or 2 but that is irrelevant when it comes to my FMP. I am very satisfied with what I've achieved this year and I can't wait for the next year!

21st May

So today is basically the final day for me to get everything for my FMP done. I have fully edited my Short Film and placed the link to it on my website for anyone to watch. Finishing my editing was not too bad as I just had to add a few more visual effects and sound effects and place them in fitting places. No issues with that. I also fully finished my post-production section by giving a detailed description to how I edited scenes 4, 5, 6 and the title sequence. I talked about the issues I had when editing and how I overcame those issues by being creative about them and using the editing tools to my advantage. I mentioned my every intention for why I used the effects that I used and how I used them to add more immersion for my movie. I have also provided screenshots to show what I am describing. Since then i have showed two of my tutors my short film and in terms of feedback I did not notice any cons with the movie, my acting and my friends acting was praised, my choice of editing was praised (the effects I used and the timing of those effects) and even the script was praised as well as my ability to remember the lines. They noticed that I implemented the advice I was given by them months ago such as including a shot at the end that isn't from the cameras perspective to make it stand out more as well as me including a side of comedy to the short film as one of the tutors stated that there's a side of humour to it which is what I was advised to do by another tutor. Overall feedback was really successful and I'm satisfied with the response I got from my tutors. Now I have fully completed my evaluation. I used the GIBB Cycle as a template to roughly use to help me form this final evaluation. I didn't have much trouble creating this as I simply wrote about my entire experience with the FMP from what went well to how I could improve to behind the scenes and the troubles that came with creating this FMP to the skills I have developed along the way while really going out of my comfort zone for this project. I then got feedback for my title sequence from 5 of my friends and they answered unbiased and gave their thoughts on what was good and what could be improved. I supplied screenshots to show exactly what each of them said. Overall I am very satisfied with how my Final Evaluation came out as and I believe I am now fully done with my FMP. I have sent a word document to the submission cloud featuring all of the links to my FMP content. I will spend the next 2 days going over everything double checking to make sure everything is all there and there is nothing else I can improve with the very limited time I have.

18th May

Today I have completed my Primary Research meaning i have fully completed pre-production. For primary research I decides to ask some of my friends what weapon would they use if they were serial killers. I got surprising results as they all share the same theme of covering tracks, long term strategies.i have also briefly edited all 6 scenes of the short film as well as a title sequence which fits so well to the overall short film and adds more immersion and corruption to the tape. I just need to fix the timing of certain of the visual effects and ads more visual effects but that won't take long and I can do that by Thursday. As I have an the idea if how to edit every scene i have given a detailed description of how I edited scene 1, 2 and 3. I stated exactly what i did and how I made them and what my intentions are behind the edits. Similar to a narrative. Now I will focus on finishing fully editing the Short Film as well as finish giving a detailed statement to how I edited scenes 4, 5, 6 and even the title sequence gets its own section. After i do those things I can start the evaluation and try get my final evaluation finished before the deadline. I believe that is everything although I will be constantly checking if I am missing anything.

16th May

I only have 1 week left to finish my FMP. Since I lasted updated I have fully finished editing my short film but I encountered a problem when I tried exporting the video and I'm not sure what happened but it got corrupted so now i have to edit the whole video again. It is frustrating but thankfully this isn't the type of project that takes a long time to edit, I'll just need to spend another day editing this and hopefully export it without any troubles. After i edit the video and export it I will give a detailed description to how I edited each scene on the website, then i will create my final evaluation then i will create my primary research and then finally I will fully update my FMP Journal and that should be everything done before the deadline. I have a week to do this.

14th May

I have added more information to my research for my pre-production. More specifically I have added more in-depth info about each of the killers I talk about and mentioned more about the different colour schemes for the colour wheel and how it is used in movies. I've also added more images to make the website stand out more. The only thing I need to do to fully finish my pre-production is add primary research which I will include at a later date. I have currently made progress on my editing of the short film and I am about half way through the short film. I've just added special effects to make the video look more immersive and Included sound effects to also add more immersion. I will add more depth to how I edited this in the post-production section of the website. For now I will continue to edit the short film.

11th May

I am very relieved that my website problem has been resolved. The problem was the computer itself has all I had to do was restart it then it was fixed. Such a simple solution that I feel bad for not coming up with on my own but that doesn't matter now as what matters is that it's fixed and I can now focus on the rest of my FMP. As for my production i have started the editing my getting all of the clips and placing them in order. This required a bit of work as the narrative isn't in chronological order but I managed to get all of the clips and cut out the parts i don't need and placed them in order of the planned short film. So now the short film is technically finished i just need to add sound effects and visual effects to the short film then after that i will need to give a detailed description on how I edited those scenes then after that i will create my final evaluation then i will be done. For now I will focus on editing the effects for the short film to improve it.

9th May

So I have given a descriptive detailed statement on how I made scenes 5 and 6 for when it came to camera angles and the actors involved and the improvisation for some of the scenes and even some difficulties involving the weather and also I included my inspiration for the final scene and how I used that inspiration into my short film. Now my production is fully complete and I can now move onto post production and get the editing done. Then after post production I have to make a final evaluation them after that i hand everything in on the deadline then i am fully finished with this years FMP. I have 2 weeks before the deadline and I believe I can get the work done before the deadline. As for my website problem it is still an issue that needs resolving so when i go back to college next week I will focus on trying to resolve that so then i won't have to worry about it in the future when it comes to my deadline. Final stage, 2 weeks left. 

7th May

Today I have given a detailed description for Scenes 2 and 3 as I wrote about the sound design for those scenes and the other actors who took part in those scenes as well as how these scenes fit into the story narrative as a whole. Just need to give a detailed description for Scenes 5 and 6 then i can move onto the post-production stage. As for my Website it is still blocked at college and tech support still have not found a way around it as they keep telling me that they made it accessible but I can't access it on computer or my phone. Hopefully this gets fixed by next week as this is getting urgent as if I don't get this fixed by my deadline then my work cannot be graded.

5th May

So I have given a full description for Scenes 1 and 4 for how I made the scenes. I went into how I made the scenes and my original plans for those scenes as well as what I liked and dislike about the scene and also the subtle things about those scenes like the lighting and the costumes and the camera angle. So far I am making good progress for my FMP and next I will continue to work on giving a described statement for the rest of the scenes. Although I have run into a problem and that is my website not being able to be accessed while at college. I have emailed tech support but they weren't much help so I need to keep asking them while finding a way around this.

2nd May

I have finally recorded scenes 2 and 5 and 6 for my project so I now have all of the footage for my FMP. I can start the post-production process whenever I want now which is a great thing to have access to at this stage. Not only have I recorded the final scenes but I also put them all on my website and Included pictures for the filming. Next I will give a detailed description about my experience with those scenes and after that i will be fully complete with Produciton and can spend the final 3 weeks on post-production and final evaluation.

29th April 

I have added detailed description for my experience with creating scenes 1, 3 and 4. I stated everything I could think of from the setup to the performance to want i liked and what I disliked. I've also provided pictures for it. Now I am fully up to date on time for finishing my filming. After i finish my filming I will add it all to my website and include context for my experience with creating scenes those scenes then i will be finished with production and can move on to post-production. 

27th April

I have added all of my footage I've done so far onto my website and organised so anyone can see them easily. Even the uncut scenes are included. I have also wrote down the context behind my outfits chosen to use in the film and the set itself and what I did to use the sets environment to my advantage for when it comes to filming. My next goal is to add context to my filming for Scenes 1, 3 and 4 and hopefully i can get that done by the time i film the rest of my short film.

25th April

I have recorded Scene 3 which took place in the Forrest and in my opinion I think it went well. My acting wasn't the most believable but for what we managed to do with the time restrictions we had I think we got the best we could do. There was time restrictions because the actor I was working with didn't have long due to work in the afternoon and there wasn't any other day to record scene 3 so we had to do it there and then. I will be recording the rest of the scenes next week but until then i will be updating my website so I will be fully up to date and ready by the time i get my next bit of footage to work with.

23rd April

I am satisfied with the scenes I have recorded for Scenes 1 and 4. It's not the best but it's a huge improvement compared to the other cuts as this time I managed to remember most of the script for the scene so I will be using those clips for the final project. I have also set up a date to film the rest of my FMP. I will be recording Scene 3 on 24th April on a Saturday for one of the actors I have involved in my short film and I will be recording Scenes 2 and 5 and 6 on 30th April with the other actor as those dates are the earliest days I can record those scenes with those actors due to work and their own college timetable being inconvenience with my timetable.

21st April

Today I have updated my website to fully complete pre-production and update my FMP journal and I've also reshoot scene #1 but I believe I can do better so I will reshoot that scene too. As for next I will constantly film scenes #1 and #4 until I am satisfied with my performance. I will also add content into the production page of my website.

18th April

I have filmed scene #1 and I believe i could do better so in future i will record the scene again trying to put in a better performance. Scenes #1 and #4 are the only scenes I can record on my own as the other scenes involve other people so I will need to wait until the actors are available to film. Next I will focus on updating the content onto my website and perhaps reshoot scenes #1 and #4.

16th April

I started the production stage and first thing I did was film Scene #4 for my short film. It took me 2 attempts to get the final shot I ended up with although I may end up reshooting that scene in the future for a better performance from my behalf but for now I will next focus on filming scene #1 for my production.

13th April

I have completed my risk assessment, what I had to do was write about the hazards of the 3 locations I will be filming in and what I can do to prevent the hazards from happening. Some filming locations have more hazards than others. Now that I finished my Risk assessment all I had to do next was put everything for Pre-production up on my website and that is what I did. Therefore pre-production is fully completed and I can now move on to the next stage which is Production. I did finish Pre-production slightly after the deadline but that shouldn't be a problem as I still have alot of time to get the overall project done before the final deadline.

11th April

Today is the deadline for my pre-production and I have to be honest with myself, I have failed to complete this by the deadline although I am very close to completing the pre-production. Currently I have included Harvard referencing into my Project Proposal and my in-depth research pack, I have included 5 harvard references which is what I was tasked to add. I have also added additional research into my in-depth research pack along with the Harvard referencing. I looked into serial killers and how I can take inspiration from them for my character and i looked into colour schemes and which ones I should use. All I have to do now is to complete my risk assessment then update my website so that it's up to date with everything then i am fully complete with my pre-production and so then i can move onto the next stage of the FMP; Production.

9th April 

I have figured out where to film for Scenes 3, 5 and 6. I have figured out where to film these scenes from a friend of a friend who knows a place. So location clearance is now fully figured out. As I now have access to this information I can now fill out the risk assessment. After i fill out the risk assessment I will then include harvard referencing into my proposal and then add Harvard referencing into my in-depth research pack. After i include harvard referencing for my sources I will include more research into my in-depth research pack then after I complete that I will fully complete the pre-production stage and will be able to move onto the production stage.

6th April

I have reached out to everyone who will be contributing torwards the short film and have gained access to their emails along with their permissions to include their emails onto my website, therefore completing my contributor release forms. This was very easy to complete as I just had to contact them. I have also started working on location clearance as a mean time to do while waiting for everyone's response for the contributor release forms. I have figured out the locations I will be using for Scenes 1, 2 and 4 although I still need to figure out the locations I will be using for Scenes 3, 5 and 6.

4th April

I have identified what equipments I will be using for my short film and how I will be getting access to them. For most of the equipments i already own and can use whenever I want but for the gas mask I had to get permission from my friend to use and as for the gas I use a plastic bottle to make it look like a canister then edit the gas in post production meaning I dont have to spend any money for the gas effect. That leads onto budget, I have also fully covered the budget of the short film and have discovered that I will not be spending any money on the whole project as everyone will be acting in it for free and I already have access to all of the equipment required. Overall it will be free for me to create the short film.

1st April 

I have fully completed the script to the short film and have put the while script up on my website. Scenes 1 and 4 were the hardest to write as they are both monologues where as the other scenes were not as bad to write because they have limited dialogue with mostly actions being the highlight of those scenes.

30th March

Overall not too much progress has happened, I've only been working on the script although I have written alot more of the script and I estimate that I have covered half of the entire script. I'm also constantly updating my website to be up to date.

28th March

I have updated my proposal so that it includes how long my short film will be and I've also updated my timetable to be more accurate so that I can get my project done on time before the deadline. My proposal was confirmed to be approved and the advice I was given was to include harvarrd referencing to my sources and to spend proper time in the research phase, with primary and secondary sources, including academic text to give me a broad research base. The only other thing I've done is start working on the script of the film although I have not written much, only the first paragraph.

25th March 

The Pitch went well. I answered every question with confidence and I'm waiting for feedback which I will get next week. I have finished my in-depth research pack where I look into different types of mental illnesses and choose the ones that best fit my character. I have also created a more in-depth character profile for my character to make him more fully fleshed out giving more details to the character about his appearance and his personality. I have put this information up on my website. For my proposal I will have to update it so that I include how long the short film will be and I will also have to include harvarrd referencing throughout my whole FMP.

23rd March 

Today is pitching day. I have submitted by project proposal to the cloud and some time today I will have to pitch my FMP idea to one of my tutors. I am confident in my ability to pass it off as a good idea. I know how long i want it to be which is 15 minutes so I have the key basic knowledge covered. As for Pre-production I have finished my in-depth research pack where I create the main character giving him more depth and I heavily look into mental illnesses choosing which ones I want to use for my character then finally selected the final 6 that i will use for my character.

19th March

I have created my action timetable so now I know when I need to complete each stage by. Currently I am on schedule to completing the project on time. I have now fully organised my website for the up coming work for my FMP so now it is neatly layed out easy for anyone to look through. The proposal and everything along with it is now done and can be submitted. Next week I will be pitching my idea while also working on my pre-production. As for Pre-Production so far I have fully planned out my story and my storyboard. I have planned for it to be roughly 15 minutes long with 6 scenes in total. 16th March

I have fully written put section 3 of my proposal where i talk about how I'm going to evaluate my project and how I'm going to reflect and what I overall learn from the project. As I have finished section 3 of the proposal this means that the whole of the project proposal is now complete. I have also sent drafts of my idea for my FMP and discussed about it with my tutors. We have discussed what I want to do with my project and the pros and cons of the idea and what I can do to help me overall. For example, my idea is to have the entire film take place from the main characters camera but I've been suggested to include a few shots that take place outside of the camera because if I didn't then it could get boring for the audience. 

It's coming near the end of the day and have completed the initial research. What I did was research into the title of the short film "Memento Mori" and explain what it means. I then looked into the name "The Crimson Killer" and explained what each of the word means and why they are formed together. I then looked into the area of which the story takes place and finally iblookes into the mentality of the main character, not fully deciding what I want him to have but I've been looking at certain mental disorders and playing around with which ones I want my main character to have.

All I have to complete now is the action timetable and that needs to be done by the end of this week which is very doable. The important thing is that the proposal is complete.
